I like building AI systems that solve practical problems.

• Work: I’m a Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning Engineer (MLE) at Cohere (Paris). I previously worked as an MLE at Hugging Face (Paris), as an NLP & data science consultant (Brussels), and as a researcher (Berlin). See the CV section for details.

• PhD: My PhD was about few-shot classification and transfer learning at the intersection between Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computational Social Sciences (CSS). See the PhD section for details on my research.

• Views on the impact of AI: I’m excited about the amazing solutions AI can/will bring to real-world problems. I’m also afraid of the risks AI can/will pose, both in the short- and in the long-term. I think that polarizing narratives like “doomers vs. accelerationists”, fueled by social media and groupthink, are unhelpful.
